Movistar Chile

Telefónica Chile was rebranded as Movistar in 2009, and was formerly called CTC. It is the largest fixed line operator in the country and its OTT service Movistar Play rolled out in Chile in 2013. Operations and figures: Telefonica’s Movistar Play OTT service reached 1.2 million subscribers in Latin America at the end of Q2 2019, an increase of 59%. Pay TV subscribers declined by 13% in the quarter to 594,000 as Telefonica admits deprioritizing the DTH service in favor of IPTV. Retail broadband accesses declined by 3% to 1.1 million in Q2.
