Nokia moves from acceleration towards scale as it reports strong 2022 results
Nokia reported a very strong set of fourth quarter results, outshining lackluster figures from arch-rival Ericsson (see Wireless Watch January 23). It expects its Mobile Networks division to be its main growth engine this year, based on the rapid 5G roll-outs that have started in India, and the beginning of a faster adoption curve for 5G Standalone (SA). The firm says it is now in an “acceleration phase” of its turnaround strategy, but has further challenges to address before it can reach the final phase, which it calls “scale”.
