Norway’s Ocean Sun is taking a shortcut route to becoming a public company on the back of its design win in South Korea for part of the $3.9 billion Saemangeum seawall development, which is expected to be the largest floating solar platform in the world at 2.1 GW. This was announced in July in a downplayed announcement which said that Ocean Sun had been chosen by South Korean firm EN Technologies to build a 1 MW pilot to pitch for the contract, and that it had a 5 year exclusive right to the design in South Korea as long as it installs 100 MW within that time.
