Swiss set top specialist iWedia has gone nuclear at the 2022 Android TV Summit in Bangkok this week – sending its PR team into overdrive with five back-to-back announcements. The news surge is the result of a deal revealed in late September that Faultline described as “too good to be true” (on paper anyway), as iWedia was contracted directly by Google to help develop a live TV application for Google TV and other Android TV OS devices. The project, which has clearly been in the pipeline for months, involves EPG, channel list, parental controls, customization for TV brands, navigation, metadata, voice control, and deep linking with streaming services.
