The NESTED initiative is a new French collaborative geared towards video streaming over 5G networks. NESTED (New VidEo Standards for Enhanced Delivery) combines Ateme’s compression technology and just-in-time packager with Viaccess-Orca’s secure video player and QoE analytics, along with a VVC decoder from French research institute IETR, and LTE-Broadcast components from Enensys Technologies. Orange is the driving force, and aims to use the experimental package to test the efficiency of video delivery over its 5G networks in France with a view to ultimately reducing broadcasting infrastructure costs.
