Momentum continues to build behind private 5G with over 80% of enterprises either having deployed a network, or planning to do so within two years, according to a survey of 200-plus senior executives conducted for NTT by Economist Impact. The principal motivations cited for going private were improved security, reliability, speed, and in the short term Covid-19, compared with public network-based alternatives. The survey of executives in Germany, Japan, the UK and the USA found that an even higher percentage, 90%, anticipate private 5G will becoming the standard network of choice within a few years.
