Renewable orders this week

 MHI Vestas will supply the turbines for three Akuo Energy wind projects in Poland. The 68.85 MW Wielowies project is in the south, while the 44 MW EP44 project and the 22 MW Gniew project are in the north of the country. The projects will be commissioned by the end of next year.

MHI Vestas will also provide turbines for three other Polish projects, named Debowa Laka, Swiecie and ‘12 W’, totalling 53 MW. Pacifico Group will be developing the projects in the north-central Kujawsko voivodship.

AMEA Power and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company have signed a PPA for a 200 MW solar project in Kom Ombo, West Nile Province, and for a 500 MW wind project in Ras Ghareb. The solar project will be developed by subsidiary Abyodos Solar Power Company by Q4 2021, and the wind project will be developed by subsidiary Amunet Wind Power Company by Q3 2023.

Renew Power and GS E&C will collaborate on a 300 MW wind farm in Rajasthan, India.

Natixis and the European Investment Bank will fund eight solar projects in the Spanish provinces of Valladolid, Salamanca, Caceres, and Huesca. The projects total a capacity of 254 MW and will be developed by Solaria Energia y Medio Ambiente. They will also fund Novasol Invest La Isla’s 182 MW project near in Alcala de Guadaira, and Natixis will fund CVE Chile’s 110 MW solar portfolio in Chile.

Silicon Ranch has commissioned its 102.5 MW solar farm in the US state of Georgia, using Hanwha Q Cells panels and with Facebook as the power offtaker.

MHI Vestas will supply, commission and maintain 224 MW of its 2.2 MW turbines for an undisclosed wind farm in the US, scheduled for commissioning in Q4 2020.

NextEnergy Solar Fund has completed its 50MW Staughton solar plant at a former airfield on the Bedfordshire-Cambridgeshire boundary in England. Construction is now under way at the 8.5MW High Garrett solar plant, in Essex, and should be complete in the first half of 2020.

Atlas Renewable Energy will use Chint Solar’s bifacial modules, to be delivered in 2020, in a 122 MW solar plant in Chile.

Energia Group has acquired two under-development renewable energy projects in County Meath, Ireland. The Glenamoy and Darthogue solar farms currently have planning permission for 32 MW, but this could rise to 220 MW.

Siemens Gamesa’s 6.6 MW turbines will be installed in Q2 2020 at the 231MW Skaftasen wind farm in Sweden, developed by Arise AB.

Lekela’s 158.7 MW Parc Eolien Taiba N’Diaye wind farm in Senegal has started generating power and will be fully inaugurated in 2020. The project uses MHI Vestas turbines.

Nordex’s Delta4000 4.8 MW turbines will be used at Mainstream Renewable Power’s 86MW Alena Wind Farm in the Chilean region of Bio-Bio. Commissioning is scheduled for early 2021.

GE Renewable Energy turbines are to be used in the 143MW Blabergsliden wind farm at Skelleftea in Sweden. The power will be used for Holmen’s mills when it comes online at the end of 2021.

VSB Energy, a German developer, has entered Korea with a planned 35 MW wind farm in alliance with a Korean company, both of which are undisclosed.

Wpd has commissioned three wind farms totalling 132.6 MW at the Torozos Plateau in Spain’s Castilla y Leon province. Siemens Gamesa turbines were used, and will be used at wpd’s 40.8 MW Corralnuevo wind project, which will be commissioned in 2020.

The European Investment Bank has invested in the 300 MW Talayuela Solar Plant, which reached FID in November and is under development by Encavis AG and Solarcentury. Located in Spain’s Extremadura province, the project will be completed in the second half of 2020.

MHI Vestas turbines will be used for the 8.4 MW Diapur and 12.6 MW Ferguson wind farms in Victoria, Australia. BayWa r.e. is developing the projects and delivery is scheduled for Q3 2020.

Bluestone Wind has received permission for a 124 MW wind project in Broome County, New York, with 10 MW battery storage.

A subsidiary of the State Power Investment Corporation will develop the 100 MW Zhanatas wind farm in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region. Funding will be contributed by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

Xcel Energy’s 522 MW Sagamore Wind Project has been commissioned in the US state of New Mexico. MHI Vestas turbines were used.

Eólica da Linha, a subsidiary of EDPR, will develop three wind farms in Portugal totalling 96 MW, having received funding from the EIB and the Banco Portugues de Investimento. The 20.5 MW Maunca wind farm is in Leiria and Batalha, The 28.8 MW Vigia wind farm is in Tarouca, and the 46.8 MW Penacova wind farm is in Penacova.

Spectra Solar Park is developing a 35 MW solar plant in the Manikganj district of Bangladesh. The project will use Sungrow panels and will be commissioned in Q3 2020.

Engie has secured an undisclosed PPA for the 18 MW Fanjeaux Solar Plant in Aude department, France. Commissioning is scheduled for June 2021.

ACWA Power has commissioned a 50 MW solar plant in Risha, Jordan.

Scatec Solar has announced it was awarded three solar projects totalling 300 MW in Tunisia’s summer auctions. They are a 200 MW plant in Tataouine, a 50 MW plant in Tozeur and a 50 MW plant in Sidi Bouzid. Construction will begin in 2020 and the Societe Tunisienne Electricite et du Gas is the offtaker.

Mitsubishi Motors is having a 3 MW solar, 1 MWh energy storage rooftop solar system installed at its Okazaki Plant in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The project will be ready in May 2020.

GlidePath will develop a 20 MW/80 MWh energy storage installation in Ulster, New York, which will be commissioned early 2021.

Navisun and TurningPoint Energy are developing two 5 MW solar plants in Virginia, named Irish Road Solar and Whitmell Solar. Danville Utilities will purchase the power when the projects come online in summer 2020.

First Solar will complete three USA solar projects by the end of this year, which will then be transferred to EDPR and Connectgen who have purchased them. The 154 MW Sun Streams 1 in Arizona, 103 MW Sunshine Valley in Nevada, and 20MW Windhub A in California all use First Solar’s panels.

PSE&G has commissioned its 15.2 MW Pennsauken Solar Farm in New Jersey.

The Florida Municipal Power Agency has announced a 149 MW expansion of the Florida Municipal Solar Project to be carried out by Origis Energy by 2023.

Boralex has announced completion of a $200 million refinancing agreement with the Caisse de depot et de placement du Quebec for the 139 MW Let Plateau I wind farm to be located in the Gaspe region of Quebec, Canada.

MHI Vestas turbines will be used in the Dong Hai 1 Wind project, using reinforced foundations specialised for the intertidal nature of the site. The project in Vietnam’s Bac Lieu province will be commissioned by November 2021.
