Renewable orders this week

AES Columbia has installed the 21 MW solar farm at Ecopetrol’s Castilla Oil Field. Ecopetrol has signed a 15-year PPA for the project.

Canadian Solar is developing three solar plants in Mexico using its own modules. The 119 MW Horus Solar Plant in Aguascalientes will be commissioned in Q2 2020, while the 125 MW Tastiota and 126 MW El Mayo in Sonora will be commissioned in Q1 2021. Canadian Solar has sold a 49% stake in each project to KEPCO and Sprott Korea, which will acquire the full stakes upon completion.

Ienova has commissioned the 41 MW Rumurosa Solar project in Baja California, Mexico.

AES El Salvador and Corporacion Multi Inversiones have commissioned a 100 MW solar project in El Salvador. The Bosforo project consists of ten 10 MW installations across the country.

Florida Renewable Partners has begun work on the 223.5 MW Florida Municipal Solar Project, which will be complete by Q3 2020. Twelve Florida utilities which are member-owners of project coordinator Florida Municipal Power Agency, will purchase the power.

NextEra Energy Resources has commissioned the 74.9 MW Shaw Creek Solar Center in South Carolina.

SunPower, which is also a solar module manufacturer, will develop a solar plus storage at the JFK International Airport in New York. The airport will use 13 MW of solar power installed on top of Long-Term Parking Lot 9, 1.1 MW of solar installed on top of Building 141, and a 7.5 MW battery installation. Besides that, there will also be a 6.1 MW solar installation for community use.

Innogy is developing the 50 MW Alarcos Solar Project in Castilla-La-Mancha, Spain. Audax Renovables has signed a PPA for the project. Construction has already begun and should be complete in the first half of next year.

Grim Power has invested in a 30 MW solar project in Serie Saophoan, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia. A PPA has been signed with Electricite Du Cambodge and the project should be commissioned in October 2020.

Subsidiaries of NextEra Energy will develop two solar projects in Arizona, the 250 MW solar, 1 GWh Solar-plus-storage Sonoran Energy Center, and the 88 MW solar Storey Energy Center, which will also have energy storage. Salt River Project, a community utility, will be the offtaker and has invested in the projects.

Red Rock Power is developing the 700 MW Inch Cape Offshore Wind farm, in the North Sea off Scotland. Construction will begin in 2020.

 

PNE Group has commissioned two wind farms in Germany. Neuenwalde in Lower Saxony is 7.2 MW and uses Nordex turbines, while Kittlitz 3 in Brandenburg is 20.7 MW and uses Vestas turbines.

Enel has started the construction of the 299 MW Aurora Wind Project in North Dakota. Basin Electric Power Cooperative has signed a PPA and is expected to be commissioned in Q4 2020.

DTEK Renewables has commissioned the 100 MW Orlivska wind farm in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. The project uses Vestas turbines.

Greencoat Renewables has purchased the 20.4 MW Killala Community Wind Farm in County Mayo, Ireland. The first five turbines, supplied by Siemens Gamesa, have been running since July, but another will be added by the end of this year.

Estee Lauder Companies has signed a VPPA for 22 MW of the upcoming 200 MW Ponderosa Wind Farm in Oklahoma. NextEra Energy is developing the project, with construction beginning at the start of 2020.

 

Vestas will supply the turbines for the Turitea Wind Farm extension, which will take the New Zealand project from 119 MW to 222 MW.

Silicon Ranch is developing the 107 MW Snipesville 2 Solar Farm in the US state of Georgia. A PPA has been signed with Walton Electric Membership Corporation on behalf of Facebook. The project is scheduled to be complete in 2021.

Iberdrola will develop three solar projects in the Spanish province of Extremadura. The San Antonio and Majada Alta solar farms are 50 MW each and will be ready by 2020, and another unnamed project of up to 300 MW will be constructed.

Belectric has commissioned the 120 MW Zeelim Solar Plant in the Negev Desert in Israel.

Romande Energie will soon commission a 448 kW floating solar installation on a reservoir in the Valais canton of Switzerland. It is a pilot project for a larger array planned for 2021.

Vestas will supply 48 MW for the second phase of the Astana Wind Farm, increasing it from 52 to 100 MW. Tsatek Green Energy is the developer and the turbines will arrive in Q2 2020.

Enel has commissioned the 8 MW Pena Ventosa Reformado wind farm in Galicia, Spain, with the 42 MW Serra Das Penas and the 12 MW Paradela wind farms soon to follow.

Vestas will supply three 10 MW turbines for the Eoliennes Flottantes du golfe du Lion (EFGL) floating offshore wind farm. The project is located off the French coast as is developed by a consortium which includes Engie and EDP Renewables.

NamPower is engaged in early planning for two new wind farms in Namibia, one 40 MW and one 50 MW, near Luderitz.

Mombasa Cement has commissioned a 36 MW wind firm to power its manufacturing operations in Vipingo, Kilifi County, Kenya.

Iberdrola is planning a 320 MW hybrid and solar project in South Australia, to be operational in 2021.

The 50 MW Guascachaca wind power plant is partially complete. Elecaustro is developing the project in the Lajo province of Ecuador.

Green Lantern Solar has commissioned a 6.7 MW Solar, 2 MW battery project in Vermont. The GMP Essex Solar/Storage project used Tesla Powerpacks.
