Hecate Energy’s 100MW Santa Teresa solar plant in the US state of New Mexico will be completed by May 2022 and has signed a PPA with the El Paso Electric Company.
45 community solar projects totalling 77.61 MW have been approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for its Community Solar Energy Pilot Program.
Solarpack has signed a PPA with Malaysian utility Tenaga National Berhad for the output of the 116 MW Suria Sunghai Petani solar park, which will be commissioned by the end of 2021 in the northwest province of Kedah.

Morocco’s 580 MW Noor-Ouarzazate solar plant, which is 500 MW CSP and 70 MW PV, which was commissioned in 2017, now has an energy storage system installed by Azelio. The system is charged from 1,000 square metres of panels and uses a Stirling engine in each of its two modules.
The first power has been drawn from the pilot offshore floating wind project Windfloat Atlantic off the coast of Portugal, with the connection of the first of three 8.4 MW turbines. The developers are a consortium of Engie, EDPR, and Principle Power.

Villar Mir Energía has commissioned the 12 MW Tablares and 15 MW Sotillo wind farms in Spain’s Zaragoza province. There are further plans for a 100+ MW expansion of the Valiente wind farm in Huesca by Q4 of 2020, the 100 MW Santa María de las Fuentes wind farm, and three projects in Galicia which total 92 MW. Siemens Gamesa turbines are to be used for these projects.
The Brazilian BNDES Bank has loaned $320 million to Iberdrola for twelve wind farms totalling 370.8 MW to be developed in the Brazilian state of Paraiba by a subsidiary of Iberdrola. Commissioning is scheduled for 2022.
Vinh Chau Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company Construction is developing a 30 MW wind farm in the Mekong Delta, in the Vietnamese province of Soc Trang. The project near the Lac Hoa commune will be ready by Q2 2021.
Adani Green Energy has commissioned a 75 MW wind farm in the Indian state of Gujarat, and has signed a PPA with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution.
DP Energy and Iberdrola are developing the Port Augusta Hybrid Project in South Australia. The project was previously reported as 150 MW of solar and about 210 MW of wind, but is more recently reported as totalling 320 MW. Construction will begin in mid-2020.
Infiniti Energy Services and Nexamp are co-operating on three recently awarded New Jersey community solar projects totalling 11.24 MW.
EDF has commissioned its 200 MW Glacier’s Edge wind farm in Iowa. The project has a PPA with Google and uses GE Renewable Energy turbines.
The United Africa Group will develop the 44 MW Diaz Wind Project in Namibia via Diaz Wind Power. The project near Luderitz will also involve a new substation and 27km transmission line, and has a PPA with Nampower.
Developer Wind2 has proposed a 38 MW wind farm on the Scottish Isle of Skye named the Ben Sca Wind Farm.
Duke Energy has commissioned the 200 MW Mesteño wind farm in Texas, which uses Vestas turbines.
Vestas turbines will be used in a 50 MW intertidal onshore wind project in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. The Hoa Binh 1 company, owned by Phuong Anh Group will complete the project in Bac Lieu Province by Q3 2021. Vestas turbines will also be used in a similar 50 MW intertidal project in Tra Vinh.
Jinko Solar will supply the panels for three Cambodian solar projects – a 60 MW plant in the Krakor district of Pursat province, a 30 MW array also in Krakor district, and a 60 MW plant in Kampong Chhnang.
Vestas turbines will be used for a 42 MW wind farm in South Korea. The Cheongsong Myeongbong Mountain Wind Project should be complete in Q3 2021.
Statkraft has signed a PPA for the output of five Solaria solar plants totalling 252 MW in the Spanish provinces of Castilla y Leon and Castilla La Mancha. Commissioning of these projects will occur throughout 2020.
Foresight’s 50 MW Guzman Solar Farm in Huelva, Spain, will soon be completed. A PPA has been signed with EDF Group’s energy trading arm.
Maine Aqua Ventus is developing a 12 MW floating wind project off the coast of the US state of Maine. A PPA has been signed with the Central Maine Power Company.
Thirty-six Ming Yang Smart Energy turbines have been used at the recently commissioned 198 MW Zhanjiang Wailuo offshore wind farm, off the coast of China’s Guangdong province. Guangdong Energy Group was the developer.
The second phase of the Overgaard 1 Wind Park repowering in Randers Municipality, Denmark, is now underway. The 36 MW project is being developed by SE Blue Renewables, will use Vestas turbines, and should be completed in 2021.
A 1,200 MW wind farm is planned for Australia’s Queensland province. Forest Wind Holdings may begin work on the project, Forest Wind, as early as Q4 2022 depending on approvals.
The Torp Vindemolle wind farm repowering on the Danish island of Thyholm will begin in Q3 2020 using three 5 MW Siemens Gamesa turbines.

GE Renewable Energy will supply 1215 MW of its turbines to wind projects in China; Huaneng’s 115 MW Mianchi and Zhenping wind farms in Henan, Shenzen Energy Corp’s 285 MW Yangzhou and Pizhou wind farms in Jiangsu, Huaneng’s 715 MW Phase 1&2 of the Puyang wind farm in Henan, and HECIC’s 100 MW Baladegai 2 wind project in Inner Mongolia. The projects are all due to come online in 2020.
Tri Global Energy has sold the 800 MW Woodford Wind project to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, whose subsidiary Woodford Wind will commission the project in the US state of Illinois by the end of 2021.
