Renewable orders this week

Enlight Renewable Energy’s 113 MW Malarberget Wind Farm in Norberg County, Sweden, will use V150 4.2 MW Vestas wind turbines. Commissioning of the project will start before the end of 2020.

Enel has begun construction at its Karuba and Soetwater Wind Farms in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. Each plant is 140 MW, and both will be completed by the end of 2021.

The 2.1 GW Saemangeum Seawall floating solar project in South Koreahas been approved by the country’s military. 1200 MW will come online by the end of 2022, and the remaining 900 MW will come online by the end of 2025.

The Mafraq I and II Solar Plants have come online in Jordan, 80km north of Amman. Both plants are 66.7 MW and were developed by Fotowatio Renewable Ventures.

Dominion Energy’s 150 MW Fort Powhatan solar farm in the US state of Virginia will be complete by the end of 2021.

SB Energy has purchased five solar projects in California and Texas from Intersect Power. SB Energy will begin construction on the projects in early 2020. 250 MW Aragorn in Texas has a PPA with Austin Energy; 350 MW Athos I in California has a PPA with Direct Energy Business; 300 MW Athos II in California has an undisclosed PPA; 425 MW Juno in Texas has a PPA with the Lower Colorado River Authority; and 375 MW Titan in Texas has an undisclosed PPA.

ACWA Power has signed a PPA with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for the 200 MW Kom Ombo solar plant in Egypt’s West Nile province. Construction of the plant will begin in 2021.

Poyry and Banpu Power will construct a 90 MW wind farm offshore Vietnam’s Soc Trang province, near Vinh Chau. Works will begin in Q1 2020 and Vietnam Electricity Group will offtake the power.

Tenaska has secured financing for its 250 MW Nobles 2 Wind Farm in Minnesota. Construction of the 250 MW wind farm began in August and will finish in 2020. Vestas will supply the turbines with Minnesota Power as the offtaker.

Apex Clean Energy should complete the 500 MW White Mesa Wind Farm in 2021. Apple, eBay, Samsung, and Sprint recently signed a PPA for 75 MW of the Texas project’s output.

AT&T has signed a PPA with Invenergy for the Thunderhead Wind Farm. The 300 MW project in Nebraska should be complete by the end of 2020.

DTEK has commissioned the second half of the 200 MW Primorska Wind Farm in Zaporozhi, Ukraine. GE Renewable Energy turbines were used.


Fu-Gen has reached financial close on its 42 MW Fjallboheden Wind Farm, which will be commissioned in summer 2021. The project is located in Vasterbotten, Sweden, and will use Vestas turbines.

Green Source Consulting and Vershina Development have completed five solar projects in Russia, each 15 MW. Two are in the Zaibakalsky territory and three are in Buryatia.

Inox Wind turbines will be used at a 38 MW wind farm in Anjar, Gujarat, developed by ReNew Power. The project should be commissioned in Q1 2020.


The Eurasian Development Bank will finance Samryuk Energy’s 50 MW Ereymentau Wind Farm in Akmola, Kazahkhstan.

Engie’s 262.5 MW Ras Ghareb Wind Farm has been commissioned 45 days early in Egypt, near the Gulf of Suez. The project has a PPA with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.

Mphepo Power will begin construction of the 200 MW UNIKA 1 Wind Farm in 2021. The project will be located in Zambia’s Eastern Province.

The 450 MW Likana Tower CSP Plant, which SolarReserve had been unable to complete, is back on track after being purchased by Cerro Dominador Group and EIG Global Energy Partners. The duo expects to begin construction in the first half of 2020. The project will be located near EIG’s Cerro Dominador CSP plant, in the Chilean province of Antofagasta.

Mainstream Power has borrowed $580 million for the first 571 MW of its planned 1.3 GW of solar and wind projects in Chile. The Andes Renovables project will be made up of 951 MW of wind power and 350 MW of solar power, all located in Antofagasta Province, and all to be commissioned before the end of 2022.

Enercparc Solar Projects is developing two solar projects in Baker County, California, both of which will be commissioned this year. One if the 2.75 MW Unity project, and the other is the 15 MW Sutton Creek plant.

Innogy has signed a PPA to sell the output of its Nowy Staw wind farm in Poland to Kompania Piwowarska. The wind farm has been operational since 2015, but an 11 MW extension is planned for 2021.

PowerChina’s 144 MW Cattle Hill Wind Farm in Tasmania will soon be commissioned. Goldwind supplied the turbines and Aurora is the offtaker.

SMA Sunbelt Energy has commissioned a 16 MW battery storage system at Groitzsch, Saxony, Germany. The project uses Sunny Central Storage battery inverters.

Agri-Industrial Plastics Company has had a 0.517 MW solar rooftop system installed at its holdings in Iowa, along with a 0.212 MW Tesla Powerpack battery system. Ideal Energy installed the project.

Constellation is building a 4.2 MW extension to the Bruce A. Henry Solar Farm in Delaware. Delaware Electric Cooperative will purchase the extension’s power.

Engie’s 225 MW Long Draw Solar Project will be commissioned in mid-2020 in Texas. PPAs have been signed with New Braunfels Utilities, Denton Municipal Electric, Garland Power & Light, and Kerrville Public Utility Board.

Solaris Energy and Namaste Solar have completed a 1 MW project in Colorado. The Solinator Garden project has a PPA with Fort Collins.

Georgia Power has signed a PPA with RWE Renewables for the latter’s Broken Spoke Solar Project, which is 195 MW of solar with a 40 MW / 80 MWh battery. The project is located in Mitchell County, Georgia, and will be commissioned in late 2021.


Nexamp has commissioned a 5.6 MW Community Solar Project in Rochester, New York. Aside from 400 individual subscribers, 1 MW goes to NYSERDA’s Solar for All program.

EDP Renewables’ 200 MW Sandrini Solar Park will have Shell Energy as its sole offtaker. The California project should be ready in 2022.

GE Renewable Energy turbines will be used for China Huaneng’s 715 MW wind farm in Henang Province, China. The project should be commissioned by July 2020.
