Renewables orders this week

Oscilla Power has entered the planning stages for a 1 MW wave power pilot project off the southern coast of India.

Siemens Gamesa has secured two deals worth 165 MW in Vietnam. The 75 MW Tan Thuan wind farm and the 90 MW Thai Hoa wind farm will use the company’s 5.0-145 turbines, and will be commissioned in Q3 2021.

MingYang has said that it could deliver China’s first floating wind turbine in 2021, which will be rated at 5.5 MW capacity.

Nordex has received a 40 MW order from the VSB Group in Finland for the Juurakko project. From Q2 2022, the company will install 7 of its N163/5.X turbines, with commission set for the following quarter.

Dongfang Electric has installed and connected China’s first 10 MW offshore wind turbine, as part of the second phase of China Three Gorges’ Fujian Xinghua Bay wind farm.

Permbokeshire Coast National Park Authority has awarded consent to the 500 MW Ireland-Wales Greenlink Interconnector. The approval covers a portion of the project’s onshore works in wales, comprising underground cables, with further approval needed for the 200 kilometer subsea section of the cable.

The world’s largest interconnector project, Viking Link between Denmark and the UK, has entered construction phase, after the UK’s national grid received a $743 million green loan for the project, which will require a total investment of €2 billion. Siemens Energy will supply transformer substations for both sides of the 1.4 GW transmission line and expects the connector to be completed in 2023.

Longroad Energy is developing the 294 MW Muscle Shoals Solar Farm in Alabama, using First Solar panels. Orsted will acquire the project upon completion in mid-2021.

Essentia Energia is developing the 474 MW Sola Do Sertao Solar Plant in Bahia, Brazil, using panels from LONGi and trackers from STI Norland. The project will be complete in H1 2021.

Lightsource BP has received planning approval for its 50 MW Hulam solar farm in the UK.

Israel has awarded three solar-plus-storage development contracts – 100 MW to Doral Energy, 48 MW to Enlight Renewable Energy, and 20 MW to Ellomay Capital.

Repsol is developing the 264 MW Valdesolar solar plant in Badajoz, Spain, and will complete work in early 2021.

OnPeakPower is developing the 347 MW Greasewood solar farm in Texas. The project has three PPAs with investment-grade offtakers and finance arranged by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners with an equity financing agreement with Bank of America.

Azerbaijan will see a 100 kW floating solar pilot project on Lake Boyukshor, near Baku.
