Renewables orders this week

SSE is hoping that its 520 MW Arklow Bank offshore wind project could be built by 2025, if it is fast tracked by the Irish government.

Vestas has received a 50 MW order from Bac Phuong JSC in Vietnam for the second phase of the Dong Hai 1 intertidal wind project. Vestas won the contract for the first phase in December 2019 and will now supply all of the turbines for the 100 MW project. Installation of the company’s 4 MW turbines will be completed in Q3 2021.

Siemens Gamesa has won a 78 MW order for the Hiep Thanh nearshore wind farm off the coast of Tra Vinh, Vietnam. Commissioning of the company’s SG 5.0-145 turbines will be completed in Q3 2021, with Siemens also contracted to service the turbines for 10 years.

Kiwi Power has signed a deal with Engie in the US, for the first deployment of its new VPP software offering.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has signed an outline agreement for a 3.5 GW offshore wind project in Vietnam. The Danish based developer now has a memorandum of understanding with Asiapetro and Novasia Energy for the La Gan project off the Binh Thuan province.

Sonnedix has reached financial close on its 40 MW Soma Solar Project in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, to be constructed by Daiwa House and finished early 2022.

AC Energy and UPC Solar Asia Pacific’s joint venture will develop the 140 MW Sitara Solar Farm in Rajasthan, India, to be complete early 2021.

Baywa r.e. is developing the 64.6 MW Witnica Solar Farm near Poznan, Poland, using Jinko Solar modules. The project should be complete early 2021.

Enel Green Power has broken ground on the 146 MW solar, 50 MW / 75 MWh storage Lily Project in Texas, which it expects to commission next summer. The developer is looking at a 1 GW storage pipeline in the country over two years.

NV Energy has filed its Integrated Resource Plan, which features Greenlink Nevada, a two-piece transmission line spanning 586 miles, besides three lesser segments. The IRP also announces three solar-plus-storage projects totaling 478 MW solar and 338 MW storage, all in Clark County. Dry Lake will have 150 MW solar, 100 MW / 400 MWh storage; Boulder Solar III will have 128 MW solar, 58 MW / 232 MWh storage; and Chuckwalla Solar will have 200 MW solar, 180 MW / 720 MWh storage. These projects will be complete by the end of 2023, while the transmission links will take 11 years to complete.

Gainesville Regional Utilities and Origis Energy are co-operating on the FL Solar 6 solar-plus-storage project of 50 MW soalr and 12 MW storage, to be commissioned in Florida by the end of 2022.

The US Solar Fund has commissioned its 61 MW Oregon portfolio, which has PPAs with Portland General Electric.

Northern Indiana Public Service Company has signed PPAs with NextEra Energy Resources for two solar projects in Indiana – the 200 MW Brickyard project, and the 100 MW solar, 30 MW storage Greensboro project, both of which should be complete by mid-2023.

Risen Energy will act as EPC for Xinghai Group’s 250 MW solar farm in Loc Ninh, Vietnam, which will see its first modules shipped in December.

Qatar’s 800 MW Siraj-1 solar plant has secured funding from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Mizuho Corporate Bank. The project should now be complete in the first quarter of 2022, with a 25-year PPA with national utility Kahramaa.
