Storage The European Commission has authorized a $304 million state aid program in Czechia which will support at least 1.5 GWh of energy storage capacity, and which is technology-agnostic so long as capacity is connected directly with the distribution or transmission networks. A 1 GW / 2 GWh battery energy storage complex has begun construction at Yantai, Shandong, China, with a $484 million investment. LFP batteries will account for 95% of the capacity, but the other 5% is reserved for vanadium-flow.
