Plus Power said this week it has closed a $188 million credit facility plus $31 million in letters of credit, to build the 185 MW/565 MWh Kapolei Energy Storage project in Hawaii. Mizuho Securities USA and KeyBank led the financing, with Silicon Valley Bank and CoBank. The storage will provide a way of shifting low-cost renewable energy to periods of high demand, as well as deliver 50 MW of fast-frequency response services. Solar tracking specialist FTC Solar has been awarded a 504 MW project in Arizona by Moss Solar.
