Renewables orders this week

Elemental Energy’s 25.43 MW Innisfail Solar Farm will be commissioned in spring 2020. The bifacial project is located in Red Deer County, Alberta, Canada.

Dominion Energy has acquired the 72 MW Seabrook Solar project from First Solar. The South Carolina project will be completed by the end of 2019.

Three solar farms are planned or under development near Puerto del Rosario in Spain’s Canary Islands. Disa Renewables is developing a 10.45 MW project, Akasaka is developing a 4.76 MW project, and Narita International Advisors is planning a 4.5 MW project. All three with use panels manufactured by Canadian Solar.

BayWa r.e. has commissioned two floating solar projects in the Netherlands. The 14.5 MW Sekdoorn project near Zwolle will use GCL System Integration’s solar modules, while the 8.5 MW Tynaarlo project in Drenthe Province was completed a couple months ago.

Phanes Group has announced the rollout of the 25.8 MW DP World Solar Project. The project consists of 25 independent installations on 60 rooftops across the UAE. DP World, the world’s second largest port operator, is the power offtaker.

First Solar’s Cove Mountain and Cove Mountain 2 solar projects have been sold to D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments. The 58 MW and 122 MW projects in Utah will be commissioned in Q1 2020 and their output will be used by Facebook for a data centre.

Construction has recently begun at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ Changfao and Xidao Offshore Wind farm. The 600 MW project off Taiwan is scheduled to be completed by Q4 2023.

RWE Renewables has acquired four offshore wind farms at various stages of development, located in the Slupsk Bank area in the central Polish Baltic Sea. The projects total 1.5 GW together, and RWE Renewables plans to commence construction in 2023.

Tesco, a UK retailer, will purchase power from five planned wind projects and a solar project. Three of the wind farms, all in Scotland, were disclosed – the 34.5 MW Halsary Windfarm developed by ScottishPower, the 24 MW Inverclyde Wind Farm developed by Baywa r.e., and the 10.8 Burnfoot East Wind Project developed by EDF, which is also developing a 43 MW wind farm for this Tesco PPA.

Southern Power has purchased the 136 MW Skookumchuck Wind Farm from RES. The project in Washington state will use Vestas turbines, and a PPA has been made with Puget Sound Energy. Commissioning will occur in Q1 2020.

RES has been granted permission for its Twin Creeks wind farm and energy storage project. The project in South Australia will have 185 MW of wind power and a 215 MWh / 50 MW battery system.

EDP Renewables will complete the 302 MW Indiana Crossroads wind farm, in the US state of Indiana, by the end of 2021.

RES has been selected by Origis Energy to build the 57.5 MW Tanglewood Solar Farm in the US state of Georgia. The project will use First Solar’s modules.

Trina Solar won three contracts in Columbia’s renewable energy auction – for the 90 MW CSF Continua San Felipe solar plant, the 99 MW CSF Continua Cartago facility, and the 36 MW Proyecto Parque Solar el Campano. Further details were not disclosed.

EDPR has been granted two PPAs by the Columbian state for the 212 MW Alpha and 280 MW Beta wind farms, which will be commissioned in 2022.

The Sunrise Wind Project has signed a PPA with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. The 880 MW offshore wind farm will be complete by 2024, subject to FID by the developers Eversource and Ørsted.

Saft has installed 2 MWh of lithium-ion battery systems across 13 locations in Queensland, Australia, for Ergon Energy.

Albioma has been award a project in the overseas French island of Mayotte. The 7.4 MW/14.9 MWh battery energy storage project is scheduled for commissioning in Q1 2021.

The City of Sydney has arranged a $60 million dollar deal to power the City Council’s operations exclusively with renewable energy. Among other things the City of Sydney has signed PPAs for CWP Renewables’ Sapphire Wind Farm and Wirsol Energy’s Bomen Solar Farm.

BBR Greentech has been awarded contracts for two 1.5 MW floating solar plants in Singapore, one at the Bedok Reservoir and one and the Lower Seletar Reservoir. Bedok Waterworks is the power offtaker for the projects, which will be completed by Q2 2020.

EVN is building the 49 MW Se San 4 Solar Power Project, collocated with a hydropower plant of the same name. AFD is providing the entire funding for the project.

The 67 MW Burgerwindpark Fehndorf-Lindloh wind farm in Lower Saxony is now under construction. Innogy is building the project using Enercon turbines, which will also have a battery system and a hydrogen converter.

Novasec has acquired exclusive funding rights for Enlight Renewable Energy’s 312 MW Gechama Wind Farm in Castilla-la-Mancha, Spain. Construction will begin in Q1 2020.

ENEL’s 50 MW Sierra Costera I Wind Farm in Aragon, Spain, has been completed.

A Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) plant has been installed for Adpo in the Dutch port of Antwerp. The project will generate about 1300 MWh a year. Azteq and Adpo collaborated on the project’s construction.

Construction of two projects in American Samoa has been launched. A 20 MW solar farm will be built near Tafuna by Recurrent Energy using Canadian Solar modules, and a 42 MW wind farm will be built near Aasu village by Green Global Solutions.

In New York, U.S. Light Energy will soon complete the 7.2 MW Denmark Community Solar Project. The company has already completed the 7 MW Sugar Hill Solar Farm.

Sunpower has announced the start of construction of its 35 MW Lost Hills Solar Project, which will be ready in early 2020. The project will use the company’s own solar panels and its energy will be purchased by Chevron for use at its Lost Hills Oil Field.

KDC Solar has installed a 4 MW carport solar system at Freehold Township, New Jersey. The power will be used by CentraState, a healthcare provider.

NextEra Energy Resources and Black Bear Energy are collaborating to install a 7.2 MW Rooftop solar project at the Iron Mountain data center in New Jersey. Iron Mountain itself will be the power offtaker for the project, which will be completed this year.

RP Construction Services has installed a 3 MW rooftop solar system at Gap’s Fresno operation in California.

Aditya Aluminium has installed a 24 MW solar plant at Lapanga, Odisha, India, and will use the power for a nearby aluminium smelter.
