Ream Management, the owner of Russian Hevel Solar, has continued to throw its weight behind heterojunction solar, announcing plans to establish a new company to build and run a 1 GW heterojunction solar manufacturing plant, for cells and modules, located in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic coast. Construction will begin this year near the Kaliningrad City airport, and the plant should be ramping production in late 2022. Another 1 GW plant will also be set up elsewhere to produce n-type monocrystalline ingots for 166mm wafers.
