Saipem and Equinor have signed a cooperation agreement to develop a new modular floating solar design which will be able to withstand rougher conditions than other floating solar concepts to date, which typically can only handle 1 meter waves. Besides being viable in places with no available lakes or reservoirs or which experience high wind, the modular design will also result in easier manufacture, transport and construction – to drive down costs.
