Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has come out swinging in a rare public display of criticism towards the company’s key streaming competition. In an interview with Variety, Sarandos raised two glaring questions which Faultline has been asking for years—why is Apple bothering to do streaming; and why oh why isn’t Max just called HBO? The timing of Sarandos’ comments are spooky, coinciding with an expose from The Independent last week claiming that Apple is hemorrhaging $1 billion a year from its video streaming activities.
