Major server vendors have attributed a surge in sales this year to booming demand for AI capabilities, at a time many tech sectors have flatlined or even retrenched. Dell is the standout performer, but other major vendors of so-called AI servers such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and IBM, along with Lenovo and the Inspur IT conglomerate from China, have also cited accelerating growth in this sector during 2024.
