According to plans detailed at a press conference by Shandong’s Provincial Energy Bureau this week, the province plans to develop “five bases” of renewable energy by 2030, of which the most remarkable are two 10 GW “offshore” solar complexes, which will be a mixture of floating and fixed-foundation. The four less remarkable of these “five bases” are the 10 GW of offshore wind, a 10 GW “integrated wind-solar-storage-transmission” complex on northern tidal salt flats, 10 GW of photovoltaics with agrivoltaic, solar-fishery and coal-mining subsidence land use types, and a 10 GW nuclear plant.
