Shaw was working with Rogers on shomi, a SVoD rival to Netflix, but has always had its own TV Everywhere OTT video service called Shaw Go. This was upgraded in January 2016 with Comcast technology so that Shaw can use its X1 hybrid set top. The service has been renamed Freerange TV. Operations and figures: Shaw lost 33,990 cable TV subscribers and 7,400 satellite subscribers in Q3 2018, dropping to a total base of 1.58 million on cable and 750,400 on satellite. The broadband business shed 3,480 subscribers, totaling 1.88 million, but the wireless sector gained 85,000 subs to reach 1.4 million.
