Shell buys out oldest French floating wind developer

Shell has bought into the floating wind market in the form of France’s Eolfi, one of the developers which has been working at it since 2004. It will be owned 100% and sit inside subsidiary Shell New Energies. Eolfi has not been the most successful floating wind player, but has demonstration sites and has a developed pipeline in France and Taiwan and has a joint venture for working in China, working with Cobra Concesiones, a Spanish industrial, wholly-owned by ACS. In turn Cobra has pipeline business in the UK as well, where it can also gather know how.
