Asian operators have often taken the lead in promoting and implementing new architectures for open networks and enterprise 5G. Singtel of Singapore provides the latest example of MNO-driven incubation of start-ups to help build a private 5G ecosystem, but it was also joined, last week, by the USA’s Verizon. These two made the latest in a spate of MNO announcements relating to 5G incubator projects or laboratories designed to stimulate private enterprise 5G adoption, especially in the industrial sector.
