SK Telecom is the largest cellco in South Korea, launching the IP mobile video service BTV in 2012, followed by the mobile IPTV service Oksusu in 2016. SK has since received regulatory permission to merge Oksusu with ad-supported service Pooq to form a new OTT video offering called Wavve. Operations and figures: Second quarter 2019 IPTV revenue increased by 15.2% year on year to KRW 322.1 billion ($270 million), driven by 123,000 subscriber additions to total just shy of 5 million subscribers.
