Telefónica operates under the Vivo brand in Brazil, launching the OTT service Vivo Play in February 2013. Operations and figures: Telefonica Brazil reported 1.32 million pay TV subscribers as of Q4 2019, losing 247,000 subscribers in the year. Broadband subs dropped below 7 million after losing nearly half a million customers during 2019. Across the total Telefonica footprint, there were 8.44 million subscribers at the end of 2019, taking a heavy hit during the year to the tune of some 440,000 cord cutters.
