The Serbian Government has announced plans to invest $7.1 billion in new energy resources by 2050, including renewable energy projects, gas-fired power plants and hydropower facilities. This comes as part of a broader objective to reduce the country’s reliance on ageing coal-fired power plants, which currently account for 70% of electricity generation and most of Serbia’s pollution.
