The US Department of Energy (DoE) has launched a new initiative to accelerate the development of energy storage technology. The ‘Energy Storage Grand Challenge’, sets out several goals in the US aiming to bring forwards points of commercialization and utilization within the industry through a range of funding opportunities, prizes and partnerships for research and development. DoE will soon release requests for information to industry stakeholders in order to assess the key challenges within the storage sector through the roadmap to 2030.
