More documents have been leaked surrounding the EU’s green stimulus and Covid-19 recovery package, detailing that €750 billion will be injected, with much of it earmarked for the development of clean technologies following the pandemic. Current versions of the plan suggest that 15 GW of renewable energy will be auctioned by the bloc over the next 2 years to account for a slow down in auctioning on a country level. The European Commission could also match the funding for national tenders, with €10 billion of investment over 2020 and 2021.
