The global pipeline for green hydrogen production has grown from 3.5 GW to 15 GW in the last 10 months, according to Wood Mackenzie. In the attached report, the analyst group also predicted that the cost of producing hydrogen through electrolysis could fall by up to 64% by 2040, which again reiterated just how conservative energy analysts can be around emerging technologies. With falling technology costs, and electricity from renewables, it is likely that this level of cost reduction will be achieved in less than half this time.
