UK Energy storage specialist Highview Power has partnered the €1 billion Spanish TSK engineering group to co-develop gigawatt house scale, long duration, energy stores using Highview’s proprietary cryogenic energy store technology. The deal will enable Highview to take its cryogenic store to Spain, the middle East and South Africa at a stroke. Tiny Highview has only built two stores so far, and they look like escalating proof of concept deals, one for 2.5 MWh (Mega Watt Hour), commissioned in 2014 and one in Bury, in Manchester which took the concept up to 15 MWh which only went live last June.
