A series of US States including New York, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, Massachusetts and Michigan representing over 111 million people of the US have sued the US Department of Energy for failing to apply the EPCA Act, a 1975 law which governs the gradual reduction of electricity used in equipment and devices.
