US renewables Wunderkind Nextera, flexed its muscles at its results, shrugging off a $1.2 billion impairment for its involvement in the Mountain Valley natural gas pipeline, which halted profits for the quarter, but kept it on track for the full year. What was left was $5 million net loss compared to last year’s profit of $975 million for this quarter, and our guess is that the pipeline may never get built, although most of its permissions are in place, and there is talk of its still getting started in 2022.
