Verizon has scored a hat trick when it comes to public edge cloud partners, adding Google Cloud to existing partnerships to run its Verizon 5G Edge services on AWS and Microsoft Azure. This makes it the only US operator to form edge alliances with all three hyperscalers. “There’s a first-mover advantage to this and obviously when you start to create these relationships in this infrastructure, the rest of the ecosystem tends to pay a lot of attention,” Adam Koeppe, SVP of network technology and planning at Verizon, told SDxCentral.
