Verizon’s OTT service Go90 was launched late September 2015 as an ad-funded mobile-only offering pitched at Millennials, but was officially killed off towards the end of 2018. Its FiOS mobile app was launched in September 2010, delivering live TV to smartphones.   Operations and figures: Verizon lost 63,000 FiOS video connections in Q3 2018, dropping to just under 4.5 million, while FiOS Internet gained 54,000 subs. Verizon also gained 515,000 wireless subscribers in Q3. Video revenue was not broken out from total revenue of $32.6 billion for the quarter, up 2.8%. Technology suppliers: UpLynk provides encoding, ABR streaming and security. From Intel, Verizon acquired some video assets and the EdgeCast CDN for Go90, and also uses the Alcatel–Lucent Velocix CDN.…
