Vestas capitalizes on high winds to boost Brazilian onshore project

Construction has begun by Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos at its 504 MW Rio Vento wind complex. Casa dos Ventos is the single largest Brazilian wind developer, responsible for about 30% of wind farms in the country, and this project will be the country’s largest. The project comes at a cost of $590 million and will be spread across 7,000 hectares and four municipalities within Rio Grande do Norte state in the North East of the country. Commissioning of the project is anticipated for July 2021.
