The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) has shifted its stance over private 5G, by calling for closer coexistence with WiFi within enterprises, rather than competing over emerging high performance use cases. This fits the WBA’s remit to foster global wireless connectivity and interoperability through WiFi, working in tandem over standardization with the WiFi Alliance. Furthermore, major WBA members such as Cisco, HPE and Dell, as well as tier telcos like AT&T, Telefonica and Telstra, all have interests in WiFi as well as private 5G.
