There should almost be a “Wood Mackenzie Watch” to explore the more outrageous claims of the world’s largest fuel and energy forecasting agency. Its latest is that Volkswagen will become the largest EV maker before 2030. It examines its forecast against the in-house plan, and says that VW will miss its own in-house targets, to produce just 14 million EVs cumulatively by 2028. VW says it will make 22 million cumulatively. But in saying that, Wood Mac talks about VW holding a 27% market share rather than a 53% share.
