Comcast has thrown its considerable weight behind the LoRa Alliance, with this week seeing the world’s largest cableco joining the LPWAN group as a board member. Comcast, and its $80bn annual revenues, will sit alongside IBM, Cisco Systems, Orange and Semtech, as a board member, giving it important influence over LoRa. This is a big deal for the LoRa Alliance, sending positive indicators that Comcast will not simply be trailing a LoRa network anymore via its MachineQ project.
