BlackBerry’s new CEO John Chen has been sending cautiously optimistic signals this year, but without falling into his predecessors’ habit of being in public denial about the company’s challenges. His latest statements indicate that sales will not start growing again for at least a year, even though cost cutting programs are helping to reduce losses. Chen told a media briefing, following the latest financial results, that he does not expect a sales turnaround until the fiscal year which starts in March 2015, but is insistent that he has visibility towards that point. ‘There’s no doubt in my mind the revenue will come, no doubt,’ he said. ‘When will that happen?
