Ericsson has published a report finding that early adopters of 5G services are engaging with various technologies loosely falling under the umbrella of the metaverse. The report falls victim to circular reasoning since Ericsson seems to define any application that requires high wireless bandwidth and, in some cases, ultra-low latency, as being a “metaverse-related activity” which means that adoption of 5G is bound to increase uptake.
