America has finally released its national clean hydrogen strategy and we can safely say it looks good! The US government places emphasis on strategic, high-impact uses of clean hydrogen that can provide maximum benefits in sectors that are challenging to decarbonize. These sectors include industries like chemicals, steel, and oil refining, as well as heavy-duty transportation and long-duration energy storage for a clean grid. To achieve its goals, the strategy sets specific targets for domestic clean hydrogen production: 10 million tons by 2030, 20 million tons by 2040, and 50 million tons by 2050.
