Chinese company CGN Brazil Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazilian company Quinto Energy to develop a large-scale complex of wind and solar energy in Bahia, with a focus on producing green hydrogen and green ammonia. The project will be powered by 14 GW of renewables. The agreement was signed in the presence of Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues at Senai Cimatec, coinciding with the inauguration of the Tanque Novo Wind Complex, CGN’s second-largest project in Brazil (180 MW), which involved an investment of $230 million.
