BYD this week announced not one, not two, but three factories which are to be built in Northern Brazil in Bahia to make buses, cars and LFP batteries, at an estimated cost of $640 million. The LFP batteries are clearly aimed at the US as much as Latin America. The Chinese bus giant turned battery and car maker, is making up for time lost in the Pandemic, during which it mostly maintained an increasingly large presence in China.
