Several Chinese wind turbine manufacturers – Goldwind, Mingyang Smart Energy, and Sany Group among others – are looking to enter solar manufacturing, with several billion dollars of investment committed so far. Driven by record high temperatures and rapid economic growth, China may already be entering peak electricity demand in July this year, earlier than usual, yet at the same time coal prices are not rising dramatically.
