Stellantis has announced the first of four dedicated electric vehicle (EV) platforms for its next generation products. The platform – inventively called STLA Medium – will cater to the company’s C and D segment vehicles, which accounted for a big chunk of last year’s global car sales. Stellantis currently offers 26 vehicle skews within these segments on a variety of platforms, but the shift to electric gives it the chance to consolidate its offerings significantly to increase manufacturing efficiencies.
