France has decided to follow Japan, Egypt and Germany in announcing €4 billion worth of subsidies in the form of a Contracts-for-Difference (CfD) program. This initiative aims to advance low-carbon hydrogen production while bridging the cost gap between green and grey hydrogen. The program is intended to run for the next 15 years. The French government has set aside €4 billion to be allocated from 2024 to 2026 through Contracts-for-Difference.
