Plans are in motion to extend an existing gas pipeline corridor from Algeria to southern Germany, passing through Tunisia and Italy, to transport green hydrogen, according to Germany’s economics and climate ministry. Pipelines are not the most cost-efficient methods of transporting hydrogen after a certain distance which begs the question: how much will this add to the price that Germany will have to pay for this African green hydrogen?
