Maersk, the Danish shipping giant, has entered into a flagship green methanol offtake agreement with Chinese clean energy company Goldwind. This significant deal involves a long-term offtake agreement for 0.5 MMTA (million metric tons per annum) of green methanol that Maersk will use to power its vessels in order to reduce carbon emission. The green methanol will be produced using a mix of green bio-methanol and e-methanol, utilizing wind energy at a new production facility in Hinggan League, Northeast China.
