BYD has announced that it will be updating its hybrid and dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) platforms in pursuit of further efficiencies. Local Chinese media claims that BYD’s new DM hybrid platform will see the company’s plugin hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) reaching 2,000km ranges on a single tank, while its new e-Platform 4.0 will result in cost reductions on the company’s electric vehicles achieved through further component integration.
