As more and more biofuel companies enter the field with novel, patented production pathways, we have one pressing question on our minds – what’s the pathway to cost-effective, mass production? Unlike its fossil counterpart, kerosene, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is not dug out of the ground and then refined through a relatively standardized process, but rather, there are 11 approved pathways of production – listed at the end of the article – with more under evaluation.
